By default, Internet Explorer saves anything that you download while browsing the internet to the Downloads Folder of the User Account that you are in. However, if you are like me, you may want to see the downloads readily available on the desktop, from where they can be moved to their respective folders like Photos, Videos, PDF Files and so on. Open Internet Explorer browser on your computer and click on the wheel shaped tools button located at the top right corner of your screen See image below.
In the View Downloads window, click on the Options link located at the bottom left corner of your screen See image below. In the Download Options window, you can either type the full path to the new location that you want to save downloads to, or click on Browse to find the target location on your computer.
Clicking on the Browse button will allow you to pick any new default file download location. In this case, let us click on Desktop See image below.
